It's them all, every single damn person who has starred or worked on a Mangled Ferret production. Put here to satisfy their humongeous collective ego...

The Old Dark House - 2005 Cast

Mark Byrne - Philip Waverton
Mark originated the role of Philip Waverton in the groundbreaking production in the Crypt. Since then his roles have included Freddie in “Picasso At the Lapin Agile” (also at the Andrew’s Lane Studio) and‘Cecil Graham in “Lady Windemere’s Fan” at the Bank of Ireland Arts Centre, which he also directed. Mark will next be seen on the small screen in the role of Prospective Buyer in the forthcoming series of “Househunters”. This will be Mark’s final stage performance as (in the words of many a politician) he is retiring to spend more time with his family.

Annie Corcoran - Margaret Waverton
Annie’s varied acting career has seen her play the artful widow in an Italian period play, “La Vedova Scaltra” (The Artful Widow) at TCD. Other highlights include the wee Scottish maid Isobel in Sheelagh Stephensen’s “An Experiment With An Airpump” in April 2000 and Deirdre in “Family Circles”, by Alan Aykbourn. Recently Annie starred as Suzanne in “Picasso at the Lapin Agile” in Andrews Lane. Last year Annie starred as Mrs. Erlynne in “Lady Windermere's Fan”

Paul Cullen - Sir William Porterhouse
As a member of Mangled Ferret, Paul starred as Scrooge in their production of “A Christmas Karl” in Dublin’s New Theatre. Other roles include John Proctor in “The Crucible” and Jean in “Miss Julie”. An accomplished drama teacher, Paul also founded Arclight Theatre.

Mark Furey - The Narrator
Mark Furey - a name legendary in Irish acting circles. In 1952, Mark co-starred with Orson Welles in the Gate production of “Othello”. A subsequent friendship was struck up that eventually let to a starring role in Welles’ classic “The Quiet Man 2: The Ceili of Doom”. A long flirtation with filming a new version of “The Old Dark House” was almost brought to fruition in 1959. At an astronomical budget of £200, it was the largest government funded film - the shoot ended in disaster as the cast was struck down with a case of black death. The only footage that remained has been generously donated to Mangled Ferret productions by the Furey family.

Alan Nolan - Cousin Penderal
Some of Alan’s favourite plays in his long career have seen him in such classics as “An Inspector Calls” by J.B. Priestly and “A Murder Is Announced” by Agatha Christie, and ironically the role of The Actor in Mangled Ferret’s own production “Ronnie’s Kids”. He also took the starring role in the Mangled Ferret production of “Picasso at the lapin Agile”, as well as playing a well-fed Christie Mahon in “The Playboy of the Western World”. His film work includes a walk on/fall over part in Michael Collins. Previously Alan had been involved in the Dublin band scene, singing with such well-forgotten bands as Donnybrook Garage and Superhate as well as the first musical incarnation of Mangled Ferret. Alan is co-writer of “The Old Dark House”.

Lisa Nolan - Juicy Knicknocks
Currently studying at the Gaiety School of Acting, Lisa has previously appeared as Joy in “Fish Hooks”. Recently Lisa starred in the Ferret Features short “The Round Dots”. But the dubious highlight of her career was as Puck in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the RSC. A role she happily reprised in the Arclight production in the Pavilion Theatre.

Will Nolan - Horace Femm & Saul Femm
Will has appeared in many productions, most notably “Beyond a Reasonable Doubt” and J.B. Priestley’s “An Inspector Calls”. The highlight of his career was playing Schmendiman in the Steve Martin classic “Picasso at the Lapin Agile”. Recently Will starred in the short feature “The Round Dots”. He sites De Niro and the Swedish Chef among his main influences.

John O'Connor - Morgan
A veteran of local youth theatre, John has appeared in “The Devil in Drag” with Red Lemon, “Our Town” with Arclight, and as Lysander in “A Midsummernight’s Dream”. He has trained in Drama Education at Bretton Hall. Oooh. Fancy.

Nora Ward - Rebecca Femm
Nora trained with the Betty Ann Norton school and the Gaiety School of Acting. Nora’s wide range previous roles include “Bugsy Malone” at the Olympia Theatre, Germaine in “Picasso at the Lapin Agile” and Miranda in “The Tempest” at the James Joyce Centre.
