Back in the eighties, Mangled Ferret shone briefly on the Dublin music scene. Respected by many but heard by few, the Band disbanded in 1987 in order for the members to move into better and more profitable ventures.

After 12 years of penniless disillusionment, Mangled Ferret Productions started in 1999 with their first original play “ A Christmas Karl” – a comedy based on the Charles Dickens classic. This was a co-production with JoeShow Productions and ran for a successful week in the New Theatre in Temple Bar.

In 2001 Mangled Ferret Productions returned with another original play “The Old Dark House” – a horror comedy based on the obscure 1932 James Whale film.

This ran for three sold out weeks in The Crypt in Dublin Castle.

Blessed with success, Mangled Ferret were delighted to present the Irish Premiere of Steve Martins classic comedy “Picasso at the Lapin Agile”, which ran for a week in Andrews Lane Studio.

A revival of The Old Dark House took place in the stunning scenic panorama of Andrews Lane studio in March just gone. But for thos who missed said venture, dry those tears! Turn that frown upside down into a smile (ya freak) - The Old Dark House shall make a reappearance in The Pavilion Theatre in October!

Currently Mangled Ferret are working on an original play called “Remember the Dodgy Badgers” by Garvan Giltinan, a one time member (some would call him a drummer - others would sue for slander) of Mangled Ferret. Presently the group are looking for a venue for August this year - check this space for details.

More revival time! "A Christmas Karl shall return to the Lane of Andrews in December, for those who missed it the first time!

Next year Mangled Ferret will travel to Boston for a run of their play “The Old Dark House”. Or so we claim.
